New DCP for Triplicane

P. Saravanan has taken over as the new Deputy Commissioner of Police Triplicane. He succeeds S. Baskar, who has joined as DC, Headquarters, Madurai. Mr. Saravanan hails from the district of Theni with a qualification of B.E. (Agriculture).

He joined service in 2001 as DSP and has served in places such as Sivakasi, Vellore and Dharmapuri. He was honoured with the Uthamar Gandhi Medal in 2011.

As the Deputy Commissioner, Mr. Saravanan will have control over 10 police stations such as Triplicane, Anna Salai, Chindadripet, Zambazzar, Anna Square and Egmore. About his plans for efficient governance of Triplicane, Mr. Saravanan says, “The beat officers of the area will be made familiar with the public. This will enable them to approach the police personnel whenever they encounter a problem. Elderly people will be given special attention.”
