There is a close affiliation between CAPSI and Friends of Police (FOP). “With increasing threats of terrorist attack in our country there is a need to step up security. Keeping this in mind, a Central Association of Private Security Industry (CAPSI) was set up in our country in 2005. Later on, it formed chapters in New Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Chapter is doing its best to train cadets to provide a good security,” began R. Srinivasan, Honorary Secretary, CAPSI.
CAPSI is a widely recognised and respected national organisation. It has more than 350 members all over India. All security agencies who are members of CAPSI engage trained guards or take freshers and train them at their own facility centre. The agencies also send their personnel to get trained by a reputed training school run by CAPSI members so that they can train their agency personnel, in turn. This is called the ‘Trainer on Training’ FOP programme.
